FRANCES
CAMPBELL has been the driving force behind Campbell's Dance Studio for 37 years.
Her primary goal when she started the studio as its sole instructor was "to
provide a safe harbor for children." Through the years, thousands of children
have danced the floors of Campbell's, some beginning long careers in the arts,
some just seeking to gain confidence for other roles in their lives. Frances has
seen many of her dancers earn awards and accolades in dance competitions and
conventions all over the world. Her greatest satisfaction, though, comes when
she watches her "kids" become friends and form a support network for each other.
For the past 15 years, she has produced the holiday classic, "The Nutcracker,"
with the classical ballet students. Frances lives in Mesa, and her five children have all worked at the studio with her as they
have grown up. Now she enjoys watching her 14 grandchildren perform in recitals
or at school, as well as training her grandsons to help with keeping up repairs.
Frances sends a special thank you to her family for their love and support, and
to each of the children, parents and instructors who have been part of
Campbell's over the last 37 years. |
